Know your worth….

A job, is just a job, but unfortunately, when it is a bad job, it becomes your identity, even when it’s a good job.

But honestly, a job is not who you are…but rather what you do for a living.

The old saying, if you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life…is true.  I have worked in some great jobs…and some horrific jobs.  Here are some tips for you to consider…

  1. Don't comprise your ethics or yourself…if they keep wanting that…then you need to leave as you are sabotaging your own self worth.  BUT FIND A JOB BEFORE YOU GO!

  2. If you have to manage upward….be humble….and get books on it.  If your boss is really that incompetent, find a new position, or you will spend your days doing their job while often they become intimidated by you, as they can't perform.

→ BUT, if they are a smart boss, they will leverage you as an asset and reward you. And you will enjoy working for them….now that is worth it.  But it is rare.

    3.  The HR department…is NOT your friend….and the EEO Complaint process is not there to help you.  Their goal is to squish you like a bug.  This process and the HR department is there to protect the company, not you.

If you are in a toxic job, get a new job…don't be foolish and think you can change them, as you can't.
